Buyequip's ewaste recycling centre in Red Hill is now officially opened

A big thankyou to all the people who attended Buyequip's opening night at Red Hill on Monday September 28. School holidays and a Monday night inhibited the numbers but it was an enjoyable affair all the same.

The night flowed with beer, wine, food and a talented young guitarist completed the atmosphere with some contemporary tunes.

The "guess the weight of the ewaste cage" competition generated much interest and Sara - representing TES AAM Recyclers Australia - was a deserving winner with the closest guess to 213kg. Partnering with Ecolodge at the Glasshouse Mountains, Buyequip was able to present Sara with a nights accommodation including breakfast at this tranquil, eco-friendly getaway.

Attendees showed their generosity with bids on the auction. Two quality ex-corporate computers were auctioned and all proceeds - a total of $420 - was donated to Lifeline Community Care Queensland .Colin Hannigan, Operations manager for Lifeline Ipswich and West Moreton shire, graciously accepted the donation on behalf of the charity. Mr Hannigan noted that Buyequip and Lifeline have developed a strong relationship and he hopes that this continues to grow in the future.

Buyequip will move out of the Stafford location at the end of October and their retail store - after nine prosperous years - will close. Buyequip's head office will be at the Red Hill location with the intention to expand to other locations in future.
