Looking for something to do this long weekend? Get along to Greenfest 2009

Don’t forget that Buyequip will be attending Greenfest this long weekend, so be sure to pay a visit to the Botanic Gardens in Brisbane city where ‘all things green’ will come alive.

Buyequip’s stall will be located in the Green Economy Hub under the Big top – an ideal place to escape the wet weather that Brisbane is expecting over the weekend.
The food court and the speaker’s forum are close to our stall so before or after you grab a bite to eat, come over and say hello.

Although the Buyequip stall will be a highlight of the festival, there will be plenty to see and do over the three days. It will be a national as well as global affair. From local music acts and exhibitors to the international appearance of eco-fashion leader Summer Rayne Oakes and the world’s fastest electric car.

This is only the second year of Greenfest and the 2009 event is set to trump the much applauded 2008 festival. More than 50,000 festival-goers are expected to adorn Brisbane’s premier green location - the Botanic Gardens - over the three days and rain hail or shine, the show will go on.

Greenfest brings together varying industries, conservation groups, government and community groups to promote the need for a greener future.
The three-day festival at the Brisbane Botanic gardens begins from 12:00pm, tomorrow Friday June 5 – which aptly happens to be World Evironment Day - and ends Sunday June 7.

Don’t let a little wet weather deter you from a great day out for all the family – besides rain is all part of nature - vital for prosperity and the environment.

Look for our ‘eWASTE RECYCLING’ stall at Greenfest

Buyequip will be an exhibitor at the 2009 Greenfest held in Brisbane on the June long weekend.

Greenfest brings together varying industries, conservation groups, government and community groups to promote the need for a greener future.
The three-day festival runs from June 5-7 at the Brisbane Botanic gardens.

Aside from paying a visit to the Buyequip stall – sure to be festival highlight – there will be plenty to see and do with live music acts, speakers, a green motor show and more than 150 exhibitors.

As recyclers of IT equipment, Buyequip will bring a unique dimension to the event by exhibiting the importance eWaste recycling.

Electronic waste is one of the fastest growing toxic wastes worldwide. In Australia in 2006 approximately 1.6 million computers ended up in landfill. As our nation becomes more technologically savvy and the demand for high-end software continues – the amount of this kind of waste shall only increase. All Australians need to take more eco-friendly measure when disposing of their deemed “older” equipment. Be environmentally conscious and give Buyequip a call.

Not just for the greenies among us – Greenfest is for all. Get down to the Botanic Gardens from Friday June 5 to Sunday June 7 and see some truly innovative businesses like Buyequip aiming for a cooler planet.
